The Four Lands Of Disney
Wednesday, October 14, 2009
When you decide to head over to Disneyland Paris, either for an extended holiday or just a long weekend away, you’ll be crossing over into another country for the duration of your trip.
But Disneyland Paris has four lands of its own ready and waiting to show you when you arrive. Of course there are the Main Street attractions as well, but make sure you head for these lands while you’re there:
• Fantasy Land
• Discovery Land
• Frontier Land
• Adventure Land
They’re all packed with plenty to keep you busy, and no doubt the kids will want to speed from one to the other so they don’t miss anything!
Discovery Land is where you will find the much loved Space Mountain. This is the piece de resistance of the whole place – so don’t miss it. It defies description but you will never forget trying it out.
Over in Fantasy Land there is the majestic and awe inspiring sight of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Whatever age you might be, you’ll regress back to childhood and get the shivers at seeing this magical looking building. It’s really the icon and the logo of Disney itself.
Next, zoom over to Adventure Land and let the kids go wild in Adventure Isle. It’ll certainly wear them out for a more peaceful evening! Don’t miss the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction either – unlike some roller coasters and other rides that are merely a minute or two long, you’ll be enjoying this one for more than ten minutes.
Finally you’ve got Frontier Land. This is where you’ll find one of the most famous Disney Attractions of them all – Thunder Mountain. There are plenty of other attractions here too that will keep the whole family entertained.
You can see why most families choose to go for a long weekend when they want to head to Disneyland Paris. One day simply isn’t enough to see everything, and when there are so many great places to stay in overnight as well, why go home early?
Instead, make the most of every park and land you’ll find there. It’s truly a magical experience.

More Britons searched for information on Disneyland Paris in the last month than on any other destination, according to new research.
Figures from online research provider Hitwise show that the resort topped a list of the most used travel search terms in the four weeks to July 14th.
Other destinations that featured in the list included Tenerife, Cyprus, Spain and Majorca, as rising numbers of travellers turned to the web to book a late summer holiday deal, reports TravelMole.
Locations that saw a significant rise in internet searches compared with last year included Turkey, with a 50 per cent increase, and Las Vegas, which saw a 39 per cent jump.
An estimated two million holidaymakers passed through British airports over the weekend after the school year came to an end, according to the Association of British Travel Agents.
Heathrow and Gatwick airports were expected to see up to 700,000 people depart from its terminals, the organisation said.

Happy Birthday Continues at Disneyland Paris
Tuesday, April 17, 2007
13 April 2007
Disneyland Paris continues to celebrate its 15th birthday but while some kinds of celebrating have been going on for a while now-including, by popular demand, a major increase in the amount of public appearances by Disney characters-others haven't quite got off the ground yet. Toon Studios, including two rides unique to Paris, is set to open in June, and the Stitch Encounter, for those keen on a bit of animated alien interaction, should be ready still later in the year.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will miss the birthday year altogether, finally scheduled to open in 2008 after construction work began in 2002.

Competition Winner Ethan Heads for Disneyland
Tuesday, January 16, 2007
Caring Ethan Amer is busy packing his suitcase after being presented with tickets for a family break to Disneyland, Paris.
The seven-year-old was chosen as winner of The Bolton News' Christmas Star competition for the way he had adapted his life to help care for his poorly sister.
Madison, aged three, has a rare condition known as 18q Deletion Syndrome. It means her speech, hearing, balance and co-ordination are affected because certain genetic information is missing from her chromosomes.
Ethan, who attends St Saviour CE Primary School in Stoneclough, accepts that he is often deprived of time with his mother and father because of Madison's condition, and has even learned sign language so he can communicate with her.
Later this month, Ethan, along with Madison and their parents Kate and Brett, will fly to France for the four-day break.
Ethan was nominated by his mum, Kate, of Tanfield Drive, Stoneclough.
Mrs Amer said: "I'm not sure who is more excited - me and Brett or the children. We're absolutely thrilled and can't wait to go to Paris. Ethan is very excited and is looking forward to seeing Mickey and his friends."
The Bolton News launched its Christmas Star competition to find a child who was an unsung hero.
The trip to Paris has been made extra special because the original coach transport has been replaced with air travel because of Madison's condition. It will be the first time the youngsters have travelled on an aeroplane.
Janet Whittingham, retail development manager at Bolton-based St Andrews Travel, which sponsored the competition, said: "When we discovered Madison would not be able to spend so long on a coach we had to do something, so we arranged for the family to be upgraded to flights at no cost to themselves.
"We were so inspired by Ethan's tale - he truly is a star."
Steve Hughes, editor of The Bolton News, said: "Our judges had a hard task, as there were so many entries which could have made worthy winners. But we felt Ethan's story was particularly inspiring and wish him and his family a happy trip."

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to Debut New Attractions and Entertainment in 2007
Tuesday, January 09, 2007
After a momentous 2006, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is poised to unveil a full slate of exciting new attractions and entertainment in the coming year, highlighted by the continued rollout around the world of its groundbreaking Where Dreams Come True initiative.
“As proud as we are of all that we accomplished in the last year, particularly with the great, global success of Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration, we have even more exciting things in store for 2007 and beyond,” said Jay Rasulo, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
“In addition to making dreams come true for our guests around the world, 2007 will be a year in which we continue to invest in our business by adding world-class attractions and entertainment that tell great stories – especially those based on some of Disney’s great creative franchises.”
“We’ll also continue to look for new areas with which we can grow our business and expand our share of the global travel market,” Rasulo added. “We think there are incredible opportunities for us on this front, and we’re eager to bring the Disney vacation experience to new audiences and places around the world, much like we’ve done with one of our newest businesses, Adventures by Disney.”
Where Dreams Come True
In October, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts – a part of The Walt Disney Company – launched Where Dreams Come True, the first-ever initiative to fully integrate and encompass Disney’s entire worldwide portfolio of parks and resorts. The campaign is anchored in the principle that families everywhere, regardless of boundaries or culture, share the belief that Disney parks are a magical escape where they can experience a world of fantasy and imagination.
“Our Dreams initiative brings that belief to life,” Rasulo said, “through attractions, entertainment, and, most importantly, Disney cast members, who are raising our already high levels of guest service to even greater heights.”
Dreams also serves as the long-term unifying theme for products and services at each park around the world. Under the Dreams umbrella, each international Disney resort will present specially tailored celebratory themes in 2007, such as the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris, the start of the celebration of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 25th anniversary, and the continued introduction of the Disney experience to a new region of the world at Hong Kong Disneyland.
In the U.S., Dreams has come to life under the banner of The Year of a Million Dreams – a celebration of Disney guests and the way their dreams come true at Disney’s parks and resorts. Since The Year of a Million Dreams began in October, cast members have made more than 200,000 dreams come true for guests at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts.
