But some rides are naturally more popular than others, and one of the best ones of all is the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.

This is a boat ride but it doesn’t take place outdoors – the whole thing is inside and that means you don’t get an opportunity to look at it before you board your boat to have the experience. This is a good thing because you just don’t know what to expect!

All the Disneyland parks have the ride, but some people believe the Paris version is the best one of the lot. The ride is filled with pirates and other characters as well, and you might be forgiven for thinking it is populated with actors. However the incredible figures are animatronics and they have to be seen to be believed.

Clearly a lot of thought has gone into creating the ride, and while some younger kids may not like it most of them probably will. There are signs announcing that you may get wet, but on the whole it is not as bad as a log flume or similar water ride.

Another major advantage of the ride is that it is quite a lengthy one. Unlike some roller coasters, where you might only have a minute or two to enjoy the actual ride, this one goes on for some time. It is also far more laid back, which is lovely to appreciate when you want to do something a little different.

If you want more reasons to go on the ride, here is another one – you’ll see something different every time. While the Pirates of the Caribbean ride never really changes, it is so detailed and in depth that you cannot possibly see everything in one go. So once you have tried the ride for the first time, perhaps it would be an idea to go back and experience it again? It would certainly ensure you get the whole story.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Look for a New Year Deal at Disneyland Paris

We all recognise the feeling you get when the festive season is over and it’s time to get back to normal. The good thing is that January and February tend to be good times to go and look for a good value holiday deal. Regardless of when you are looking to get away, you will benefit from looking for a great deal at the moment, especially for holidays to Disneyland Paris.

If you are thinking about getting a good value deal, it pays to start by thinking about what you want. For example how many people will be going and when are you thinking of travelling? In addition to this you have to think about whether you want to stay in a hotel on site or whether you would prefer to stay somewhere slightly further afield.

Another thing worth bearing in mind is that you can often get deals where the kids travel and stay for free. These can be an excellent way of saving money if you are looking for a family holiday that everyone can enjoy. Be sure to read all the small print on the deals though, to make sure you will be getting the exact deal you are after.

You should also consider the length of time you would like to stay at Disneyland Paris for. Are you thinking of staying for a long weekend or do you want to treat your family to a longer stay of a week or so, and take in a tour of Paris itself as well? As you can see it is worth thinking about all these aspects before you even think about booking anything, because you will be able to settle on the best possible deal far more easily if you do.

It’s easy to see why so many people think about going to Disneyland Paris. But it doesn’t matter whether it is rides you want to opt for, the experience of seeing the parades that are so much a part of Disney, or something else entirely. Make sure you are always able to enjoy a great value break at Disneyland Paris by sniffing out the best deals now.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Is the Disneyland Experience Just for Kids?

Anyone who has ever been to a Disney park (whether it’s in Paris or anywhere else in the world) will know the answer to this question. You can certainly have a great time here if you are still in single digits as far as your age is concerned, but that doesn’t mean that adults will have any less of a good time. Some people even feel a little guilty about going when they don’t have any children with them. But as you will see, Disneyland Paris really does have some sensational experiences for the adults to enjoy as well.

One of the main experiences is the selection of rides you will be able to enjoy while you are there. Indeed this is a big experience that has been designed specifically for adults, as many of the major rides have age and height exclusions in place. There are plenty of rides for the younger members of the family too of course, but you can certainly enjoy the idea of being able to enjoy Disneyland just as much as an adult.

And let’s be fair here – you can indulge the kid in you as well, no matter what age you might be. This is one of the delights of going to Disneyland Paris or one of the other parks in the world, because it really does cater for the kid in all of us.

With rides like Space Mountain: Mission 2, Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean you can look forward to trying out countless different experiences no matter which of the five lands you happen to be in. Disneyland Paris packs in just as much fun as any of the other Disney locations worldwide. In addition to this you won’t have to travel anywhere near as far to reach it from the UK, giving you even more reason to regress a little and try it out for yourself.

But perhaps it is the level of detail given to every single square inch of Disneyland Paris that makes it just as good for the adults as it is for the kids. If you have never booked a trip there before, perhaps now is the best time to do just that.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

What If You Don’t Like Rides?

It’s a good question isn’t it? After all why would you go to an amusement theme park that is known for its rides if you don’t actually like riding roller coasters and other types of rides? It wouldn’t seem to be the best bet for a long weekend away would it?

But here’s the thing – Disneyland Paris isn’t like most theme parks. This one really has a huge theme above all else and this of course is Disney. Even if the rest of the family will be off riding all the big rides in the park you won’t be bored or left wondering why you came in the first place. Instead you will be looking and appreciating all the other aspects of the park too.

The main thing to remember about Disneyland Paris is the Disney theme. You will have the chance to see parades and shows as well as taking part on the rides. The other thing is that it isn’t just packed with huge rides. These certainly take most of the attention because they are so well known. But if you look deeper into the park you will see it has been created to please lots of other people as well. Everyone who comes to the park should have a wonderful time, thanks to the balance of amusements and things to see and do that Disneyland Paris has to share with you.

Shows and events of all kinds take place across the park all the time. You should get a timetable of the latest events as soon as you arrive at the park, so you can ensure you are in the right place to see them all while you are there. One thing to remember is that poor weather conditions can cancel some events, so it is worth thinking about that when you are trying to plan your day ahead. Make sure too that you aren’t queuing for rides at the time when a show takes place. Prior planning will help you to ensure you can see the best shows at the right times – especially if you aren’t keen on the biggest rides in the park.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Have You Checked Your Map?

If you’re heading out to Disneyland Paris for a few days, you would be well advised to take a look at a map before you leave home.

We’re not talking about a map telling you how to get there though (although it would be a good idea if you have never been before). We’re talking about an actual map of the park itself. This is one huge place after all, and if you leave the exploration until you get there you could find yourself spending lots of time wandering around getting overwhelmed.

We’re not suggesting you plan a precise route on how to get round Disneyland Paris. But even if all you do is familiarise yourself with where the different lands are, you’ll be much better placed to start enjoying the park when you arrive.

For starters, take a look at the various different parts of the park. Main Street USA is the main section that leads you right into the centre of the park. From this point you can branch off towards any of the remaining four areas. These are Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland and Discoveryland, going round in a clockwise fashion. Main Street USA sits at the bottom of the map with Frontierland to the left and Discoveryland to the right.

Obviously each area has its own range of rides and attractions to enjoy. If you want to see the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle you’ll need to head up Main Street and keep going. It won’t take long for you to spot it.

If you bear this basic map in mind, with the locations of each part of the park, you will be able to make the most of the park when you get there. You will soon get used to which rides are in which section, and you’ll know which parts you can go back to as well, depending on where your favourites are.

You can probably see that studying the map is a great way to get motivated and excited about your holiday. It also has the double advantage of preparing you for going in the right direction when you arrive.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Are You Brave Enough To Enter Phantom Manor?

Disneyland Paris is packed with rides to lure in all ages and types of people. But not all of them are designed to be fast and furious. Some of them are designed to give you a very different experience indeed.

A classic example of this is the haunted and creepy looking Phantom Manor. It sits atop a hill and can be seen from some distance away. You may find yourself drawn to it and yet you will feel hesitant about queuing to go inside. The manor is abandoned and ruined, but secrets and mysteries are behind the door. If you are brave enough to enter you will have an experience you will never forget.

The first part of the ride is actually undertaken on foot. You will be shown into the house and through a couple of rooms, one of which seems to have a problem with the ceiling and the floor. Do they both seem to be moving and making the room feel smaller? Watch out above your head too, because you never know what you might see there.

The actual ride itself takes place on a number of small Doom Buggies. With a name like this you can imagine what lies in store for you, but you should still be prepared to get a few shocks. You will be taken round various parts of the manor, to see what happened there and the secrets that it keeps from the outside world. You’ll need nerves of steel to make it through to the end, where you will be able to escape into the daylight once again.

You will find the Phantom Manor in Frontierland, not far from the Thunder Mountain ride. Indeed part of the storyline of the inhabitants of Phantom Manor is associated with the railroad, so make sure you pay attention. You will find out some surprising secrets about the ride, the manor and how they are connected.

The manor may not appeal to everyone but if you like to be unnerved and scared from time to time, you will love it. If you have the nerve, of course.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

What Kind Of Experience Do You Want At Disneyland Paris?

There is no doubt that Disneyland Paris attracts all kinds of different visitors. Lots of different families make the effort to take their kids to the park because they know they will be caught up in the magic of the place. Of course, kids of all ages will be caught in the spell of Disney magic – even when said kids are well into their adult years!

But if you think that Disneyland Paris is just for kids, think again. They have experiences designed for all kinds of customers, from families to couples and everyone in between.

If you are a thrill seeker looking for some sensational rides to try, you won’t be disappointed coming to the park. There is the famous Thunder Mountain but there are other rides as well. The Rock n Roller Coaster and Space Mountain are just two examples of some of the other rides you will find in the park.

Of course one of the main attractions is the whole world of Disney characters waiting to greet you. Even the most hardened of adults will be hard pushed not to fall for the charm of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the rest of the gang. You can meet lots of the Disney characters during your time in the park, so you can really look forward to a great time out and about.

The point is that lots of people think Disneyland is just about pleasing the kids. The truth is very different from that – it sounds like a cliche but Disneyland Paris does have something to please everyone. Regardless of whether you want to try out some of their famous rides, stay in a Disney hotel or meet some of the famous characters face to face, you will love every minute of being there.

And the good news is you don’t have to focus on the kind of experience you want to have before you go either. You’ll probably have an idea of what you want to do, but you can also try other things once you actually arrive and the whole of Disneyland Paris is laid out in front of you.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Googling Disneyland Paris

Who doesn’t love the magic of Disneyland? The problem is if you have never visited Disneyland Paris before you simply won’t know what to expect. If you have kids to take with you then you can be fairly sure you can book what will be a successful trip. But suppose you are thinking about going away with your partner for a long weekend? Wouldn’t you like to see what is in store before you book?

Of course you would, and thanks to Google Earth you can now do just that. As you might know, Google Earth enables you to take a closer look at lots of different areas around the globe. And now that Disneyland Paris has joined the fray you can see it in almost as much detail as you could if you were standing in the park itself.

Now you might be forgiven for thinking it could spoil everything. After all, wouldn’t you want a visit to the park to be more of a surprise? This is the beauty of Google Earth – it shows you what to expect without spoiling it when you actually get there.

You can move right up to the castle that is an icon of the Disney parks. Why not watch out for Mickey Mouse and various other characters as you explore what Disneyland Paris has in store for you as well?

It’s up to you how much you explore Disneyland Paris via Google Earth. But there is no doubt that it doesn’t spoil a thing. If you have ever watched a film of a roller coaster taken from the front of the coaster while it goes around the ride, you will know it doesn’t spoil the experience of going on the actual ride itself. It does tell you what to expect but seeing and visiting are two different things.

In fact it might make you even more excited to book a weekend break at the park. No matter what time of year you go or how long you intend to spend there, why not visit the park virtually in 3D first?
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Experience The Big Thunder Mountain At Disneyland Paris

Not everyone loves the big rides when they go to a theme park. But when you visit Disneyland Paris you have such delights as the Thunder Mountain ride, and that is well worth getting up the nerve to try.

This ride can be found in Frontierland and you can see it easily – just look for the mountain. You wouldn’t want to ruin the ride by looking at it too closely, but it is worth checking it out before you get on board. You will see bits and pieces of it by doing this, but of course the main event is only experienced by actually doing it. Can you handle a runaway mine train?

The good thing about this ride is that it gives you a good time but it isn’t quite as big as a roller coaster. So if you are working up to finding the courage to try out a roller coaster or two, you should definitely give this one a try before you step it up a bit.

The ride itself is built exactly like an old train, with open carriages to sit in and a winding railway track running through and around the mountain. There are a few steep drops and a water hazard or two as well, so hang on quite literally while the ride takes you on this amazing journey.

It’s a pretty long ride too – longer than many roller coasters will have you going for. And while you start off in the dark you’ll soon be out onto the outside of the mountain again. You’ll go around this and through various holes in the structure as you weave your way around the track, and with a long track in front of you there is always something else to expect. Can you imagine seeing the track in front of you and then seeing it disappear into the darkness? This is just one thrill you have to watch for when you take your seat on Thunder Mountain.

It’s not surprising this is one of the biggest thrills at Disneyland Paris. But will you have the nerve to ride it?
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

What Is The Disney Village?

If you are planning on visiting Disneyland Paris at some point this year, you will come across the Disney Village sooner or later. This is particularly true if you are going to be staying in one of the hotels at Disneyland while you are there.

You can actually go to the Disney Village without entering the main park if you wish, although for most people visiting Disneyland Paris this is just another venue to see while they are there. But what exactly is it?

Well, basically it is a shopping venue designed to run along the same lines as the park itself. You will find lots to see and do here, although it is firmly a shopping experience rather than anything else. Some people like to go here when the main part of Disneyland Paris closes for the day, so they still have something to do before turning in for the night at their chosen hotel.

You can visit the shows that sometimes take place at the venue, although it is best to check in advance to see whether anything good is on while you will be there. They change regularly so who knows, you might be lucky and see more than one show while you are staying at Disneyland Paris.

There is a large fifteen screen cinema in the Disney Village, along with an IMAX cinema as well, so the chances are good that you will find something to do in the evenings. And with various restaurants and bars there too, you can see there are plenty of places to grab a meal in the evening if you want to. That’s assuming you have the energy left to do so after a busy day in the main park of course.

Not everyone knows about the Disney Village until they actually reach the park itself. It doesn’t seem to be as well known as Disneyland Paris itself, but there is certainly a lot to explore once you arrive. So make sure you have some time to see all that the Disney Village has to show you, because it could provide you with a couple of good evenings out.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

The New Generation Festival At Disneyland Paris

If you start looking for an upcoming break at Disneyland Paris, three words are likely to come to your attention before too long. These are ‘New Generation Festival’ and it is something that Disney has only just launched at the beginning of April 2010.

So what is this festival and what does it hold in store for anyone wanting to visit the park in the near future?

For starters there are five new shows to look forward to. One of the highlights here must surely be the Monsters Inc Scream Academy. This is available to see at the Walt Disney Studios Park, and if you are familiar with the big blue monster from Monsters Inc and his friendly green friend with a huge eyeball, you’ll want to see more.

Get your kids to scream as loud as they can and see how far the scream machine will light up as a result. And you can even get your picture taken with the characters from the film.

There are also some new attractions to see as part of the New Generation Festival. A good example is the Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, although if you want to see this make sure you don’t book before the end of the summer this year. This is when these new attractions should be opening for the public to see them. You could be one of the first people to experience them when you arrive at Disneyland Paris.

As you can probably tell though, the New Generation name is certainly a big clue as to the kinds of Disney characters you will find in these new attractions. With Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc, Woody from Toy Story and Nemo from Finding Nemo among others, these attractions bring Disney bang up to date. Of course all your favourite characters from films gone by will still be there. But it is just as good to see all the new ones making a welcome appearance as well.

And it will certainly crank up the fun for your kids when you all arrive at the park.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Free Holidays For The Under Sevens

There is no doubt that Disney appeals to the kid inside all of us, no matter how old we might be. When it comes to visiting Disneyland in Paris it is definitely a trip to be made by the whole family. And this year there are plenty of free spaces available as well.

If you have children under the age of seven you can probably tell that there is a lot of money to be saved here. Any adult booking a place that meets with their terms and conditions will be able to book a child place for someone under the age of seven completely free of charge. This could knock a lot off your break to Disneyland Paris – and it might just provide the tipping point that pushes you over into deciding to go.

And there is a lot to enjoy once you get there too. There is the Walt Disney Studios Park as well as the Disneyland Park so you are going to get twice the amount of fun you may at first have thought. You will get to see the Magic Kingdom and meet all the most famous Disney characters up close too. A lot of people who haven’t visited Disneyland Paris yet will assume that this is strictly for the kids. But it’s not true – the adults love the experience just as much as the kids do.

You will find rides for the whole family to enjoy as well. The adults will love the bigger hair raising rides included just for them, while there is something for the children to try out around every corner. The tamer rides might be just the ticket for the adults as well if hair raising isn’t really your thing!

And of course no Disney park would be the same without its fair share of Disney parades and shows to look forward to. Make sure you know when the times are so you can be there when everything gets started.

So if you want to save some cash this summer, head for Disneyland Paris and enjoy taking the younger kids for free.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Have You Ever Been To The Walt Disney Studios Park?

If you haven’t you should make a point of visiting it the next time you go to Disneyland Paris. You can’t miss it because it is right next to the main Disneyland Park itself, and there is such a lot to see there you will be glad you made the time to see what’s what.

So what can you see when you get there?

Well the main difference with this location is that it is very different from the Disneyland Park next door. This is where you will find amazing attractions built around the process of actually creating the cartoons themselves. So if you have an interest in behind the scenes information you will love it.

Needless to say it is great for the whole family too and very much geared up to please everyone. There are four lots to explore when you arrive, including Production Courtyard, which will reveal how many of the animation effects are produced and created. There is a roller coaster ride here too so if you are looking for the big thrills you won’t go home disappointed.

The Studio Tram Tour is well worth taking too, and it will reveal many of the sets used to create unforgettable TV and movie scenes. You can be assured a few things will go ‘wrong’ (intentionally of course) on your way round and through this experience as well.

Of course Disney wouldn’t be Disney without a parade, and you’ll have the chance to see one of these when you visit the Studios Park. In addition you can visit some of the shows that are laid on regularly for visitors. Watch out for the separate shows on offer in each part of the Studios Park – most of the separate lots do have something to see there.

So as you can see, if you visit Disneyland Paris and you only see the one park, you’ll be missing out on half the story. And that means you’ll never learn the secrets of Disney movie making up close – which would be a real shame.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Make The Most Of An Early Break At Disneyland Paris

If you have ever visited Disneyland Paris before you will know that it defies description. If you have children it is one of the most exciting places you could ever hope to take them on holiday.

And thanks to a great deal on at the moment you can take them there without paying a penny for them as well.

You must book your break soon though, because you need to arrive on any date up to the 1st April to take advantage of this superb recession busting deal. The recession may technically be over but a lot of families will still be struggling to make sure they get the best value for money on their holiday. A short break to Disneyland Paris could be just what you need.

Your kids need to be under the age of twelve but provided you have an adult in each room you book for your break, all your kids can take advantage of getting into the Disneyland parks for no charge. This is an amazing deal and well worth taking advantage of.

And there is plenty to enjoy once you get there too. With lots of differently themed lands to explore inside Disneyland Paris and all the major Disney characters to meet as well, you can see why so many people choose it. And if budgeting is a problem you can always book your break to coincide with the tail end of the offer, so you have some time to save up your spending money.

It would be an early holiday in the year, but you can also time it to fall in the holiday periods for your schools. There is no doubt that a surprise break to Disneyland Paris will get the kids excited – not to mention the adults as well! There is something about the magic of Disney that never fails to reach everyone who experiences it.

So if you are starting to wonder where you could go on holiday this year, why not opt for Disneyland Paris? You may not have considered it before but as you can see, it is well worth giving it a try.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Need Somewhere To Stay When You Visit Disneyland Paris?

Wherever you would like to stay, you won’t have to worry. Disneyland Paris not only supplies great rides and activities for all the family to enjoy, they also supply some superb hotels for you to stay in.

The hotels in the area fall into two distinct groups. First you’ve got the Disney hotels themselves – all located right up close to the park so you won’t waste any time travelling to and from them every day. The flagship Disneyland Hotel is very close to the Magic Kingdom, but there are plenty more you can stay in as well.

Shop around too because while the Disneyland Hotel is generally the most expensive one of the lot, there are some great bargains to be had elsewhere. Try the Davy Crockett Ranch for example – these cabins are set in woodlands and have a real Davy Crockett feel to them. And of course you’ll get your admission to the parks included in your hotel stay as well. Just make sure you check what’s included and what isn’t before you make your booking – that way you will know what to expect.

There are other hotels you can consider as well. Most of them are themed in some way to get you in the right mood for Disneyland itself! For example do you fancy staying in a Big Top? Not literally of course but you will think you are if you opt for the Vienna International Magic Circus Hotel. Yes, there really is a hotel by that name nearby.

The thing to remember with staying in a hotel other than one of the Disney hotels is that it won’t be as close to the parks. Most of them have a shuttle service that will take you there each day, all included in the price, but it’s not a short walk as the Disney Hotels offer you. So make sure you know where you will be and what journey time to expect.

Wherever you choose to stay it’s going to be the start of a great time in Disneyland Paris. Are you ready for it?
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

The Four Lands Of Disney

When you decide to head over to Disneyland Paris, either for an extended holiday or just a long weekend away, you’ll be crossing over into another country for the duration of your trip.

But Disneyland Paris has four lands of its own ready and waiting to show you when you arrive. Of course there are the Main Street attractions as well, but make sure you head for these lands while you’re there:

• Fantasy Land
• Discovery Land
• Frontier Land
• Adventure Land

They’re all packed with plenty to keep you busy, and no doubt the kids will want to speed from one to the other so they don’t miss anything!

Discovery Land is where you will find the much loved Space Mountain. This is the piece de resistance of the whole place – so don’t miss it. It defies description but you will never forget trying it out.

Over in Fantasy Land there is the majestic and awe inspiring sight of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Whatever age you might be, you’ll regress back to childhood and get the shivers at seeing this magical looking building. It’s really the icon and the logo of Disney itself.

Next, zoom over to Adventure Land and let the kids go wild in Adventure Isle. It’ll certainly wear them out for a more peaceful evening! Don’t miss the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction either – unlike some roller coasters and other rides that are merely a minute or two long, you’ll be enjoying this one for more than ten minutes.

Finally you’ve got Frontier Land. This is where you’ll find one of the most famous Disney Attractions of them all – Thunder Mountain. There are plenty of other attractions here too that will keep the whole family entertained.

You can see why most families choose to go for a long weekend when they want to head to Disneyland Paris. One day simply isn’t enough to see everything, and when there are so many great places to stay in overnight as well, why go home early?

Instead, make the most of every park and land you’ll find there. It’s truly a magical experience.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Disneyland Paris Tops Holiday Search Results

23 July 2007

More Britons searched for information on Disneyland Paris in the last month than on any other destination, according to new research.

Figures from online research provider Hitwise show that the resort topped a list of the most used travel search terms in the four weeks to July 14th.

Other destinations that featured in the list included Tenerife, Cyprus, Spain and Majorca, as rising numbers of travellers turned to the web to book a late summer holiday deal, reports TravelMole.

Locations that saw a significant rise in internet searches compared with last year included Turkey, with a 50 per cent increase, and Las Vegas, which saw a 39 per cent jump.

An estimated two million holidaymakers passed through British airports over the weekend after the school year came to an end, according to the Association of British Travel Agents.

Heathrow and Gatwick airports were expected to see up to 700,000 people depart from its terminals, the organisation said.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Disneyland Paris Ticketing News

18 June 2007

You can buy tickets from Monday 18 June, 2007 for the Disneyland Paris event at www.Fnac.com.

On Fnac.com they are now selling for €500.00 a VIP access including fast pass access to all the attractions in the park + entrance to the VIP section with Mariah Carey and Gloria Gaynor with champagne, food and access to Magic Journeys.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Happy Birthday Continues at Disneyland Paris

13 April 2007

Disneyland Paris continues to celebrate its 15th birthday but while some kinds of celebrating have been going on for a while now-including, by popular demand, a major increase in the amount of public appearances by Disney characters-others haven't quite got off the ground yet. We're absolutely thrilled and can't wait to go to Paris. Ethan is very excited and is looking forward to seeing Mickey and his friends."

The Bolton News launched its Christmas Star competition to find a child who was an unsung hero.

The trip to Paris has been made extra special because the original coach transport has been replaced with air travel because of Madison's condition. It will be the first time the youngsters have travelled on an aeroplane.

Janet Whittingham, retail development manager at Bolton-based St Andrews Travel, which sponsored the competition, said: "When we discovered Madison would not be able to spend so long on a coach we had to do something, so we arranged for the family to be upgraded to flights at no cost to themselves.

"We were so inspired by Ethan's tale - he truly is a star."

Steve Hughes, editor of The Bolton News, said: "Our judges had a hard task, as there were so many entries which could have made worthy winners. But we felt Ethan's story was particularly inspiring and wish him and his family a happy trip."
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to Debut New Attractions and Entertainment in 2007

After a momentous 2006, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is poised to unveil a full slate of exciting new attractions and entertainment in the coming year, highlighted by the continued rollout around the world of its groundbreaking Where Dreams Come True initiative.

“As proud as we are of all that we accomplished in the last year, particularly with the great, global success of Disneyland’s 50th anniversary celebration, we have even more exciting things in store for 2007 and beyond,” said Jay Rasulo, Chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

“In addition to making dreams come true for our guests around the world, 2007 will be a year in which we continue to invest in our business by adding world-class attractions and entertainment that tell great stories – especially those based on some of Disney’s great creative franchises.”

“We’ll also continue to look for new areas with which we can grow our business and expand our share of the global travel market,” Rasulo added. “We think there are incredible opportunities for us on this front, and we’re eager to bring the Disney vacation experience to new audiences and places around the world, much like we’ve done with one of our newest businesses, Adventures by Disney.”

Where Dreams Come True

In October, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts – a part of The Walt Disney Company – launched Where Dreams Come True, the first-ever initiative to fully integrate and encompass Disney’s entire worldwide portfolio of parks and resorts. The campaign is anchored in the principle that families everywhere, regardless of boundaries or culture, share the belief that Disney parks are a magical escape where they can experience a world of fantasy and imagination.

“Our Dreams initiative brings that belief to life,” Rasulo said, “through attractions, entertainment, and, most importantly, Disney cast members, who are raising our already high levels of guest service to even greater heights.”

Dreams also serves as the long-term unifying theme for products and services at each park around the world. Under the Dreams umbrella, each international Disney resort will present specially tailored celebratory themes in 2007, such as the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Resort Paris, the start of the celebration of Tokyo Disney Resort’s 25th anniversary, and the continued introduction of the Disney experience to a new region of the world at Hong Kong Disneyland.

In the U.S., Dreams has come to life under the banner of The Year of a Million Dreams – a celebration of Disney guests and the way their dreams come true at Disney’s parks and resorts. Since The Year of a Million Dreams began in October, cast members have made more than 200,000 dreams come true for guests at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts.<div ordered Swiss firm Centre-Tainment to submit a formal bid for Euro Disney by Monday or cease attempts to buy the leisure park operator for six months.

An AMF spokeswoman added that because Centre-Tainment was listed on the unregulated market segment in Frankfurt, the offer had to be in cash because share swap offers in principle are only accepted by companies listed on regulated markets.

Center-Tainment AG called a news conference on Thursday to launch a bid worth 11 euro cents a share, but then drew back.

For more Paris increased by 500,000 in the 12 months to the end of September, but operating company Euro Disney said it had made a loss of 73.1 million euros (94 million dollars) over the period.

A total of 12.8 million people visited the theme parc, 30 kilometres (18.6 miles) east of Paris, which was better than the previous 12 months but below the 13.1 million customers of 2002.

'After a year of transition, after the restructuring of the debt in 2005, we are returning to growth,' finance director Ignace Lahoud said during a press conference.

Sales in the company's theme parcs and nearby hotels grew to 1,088 billion euros in the 2005-2006 financial year from 1.041 billion last year and the operating loss narrowed sharply to 2.4 million euros from 31.9 million.

Lahoud said that the increase in visitor numbers had been driven by increased trips from French and Spanish tourists, which represented 42 percent and 11 percent of total visitors respectively.

The average amount spent per visitor increased from 44.3 euros to 44.8 euros and the occupancy rate in hotels increased from 80.7 percent to 83.5 percent.

The debt-ridden Euro Disney group has had to restructure its finances twice since being launched in the early 1990s and completed a 253.3-million-euro capital increase in February last year to avert insolvency.

The rights issue was undertaken after agreement was reached with Walt Disney and creditor banks to restructure and cut the group's debt from 2.4 billion euros to 1.9 billion euros.

The rise in visitor numbers to Disneyland Paris comes despite a number of disturbances that might have been expected to deter tourists.

France was rocked by violence in depressed suburbs around Paris and other cities last November when youths burned thousands of cars to protest joblessness and alleged police mistreatment.

Student and trade union groups then took to the streets in March and early April, leading to violent clashes, to denounce a controversial youth employment bill, which the government eventually withdrew.

Poor summer weather in northern Europe worked against the company as well, and recent strikes from staff meant visitors to the attraction, which sells itself as a children's fantasy world, were confronted by workers protesting low pay.
Visit us at in Paris is putting recent scandals behind them and moving full steam ahead to celebrating their fifteenth birthday. What's more, they're stretching the birthday celebration out to a full 363 days, with special offers and entertainment running from today until November 8 next year: that's one heck of a birthday party.

During the birthday fun, Crush's Coaster (courtesy of Finding Nemo) and Cars Race Rally attractions will open up, and Extra Magic Hours will allow visitors staying in the on-site hotels to get access to some parts of Disneyland for an extra two hours.

And the final addition will be Candlelabration with birthday singing, dancing and candles to celebrate the big 1-5 in front of Cinderella's castle.
Visit us at http://www.cooptravel.co.uk or call 0870 243 0800
